Plato said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything”, and Shakespeare said, “If music be the food of love, play on”, and George Elliot said, “Life seems to go on without effort when I am filled with music.” Psalm 71:23 “My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you-I whom you have delivered”.
Our Pastor Annette is blessed with a voice of an angel, our organist/pianist Ingrid Takahashi can make your spine tingle with her array of notes.
Our church has provided space within the church for music and voice coaches to teach vocal and instrumental students in their early years that have little knowledge of music or may not have the opportunity in their school programs for it to read music and sing or play instruments. We also have the pleasure of hosting the same space for rehearsal and practice to the Richmond Hill Concert Band, Opera York, Opera York Children’s Choir, and the Toronto Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra of the Toronto Chinese Ai Vue Philharmonic Arts.
Our church’s support of this community music program has produced novel exchanges between amateur budding singers to the most talented York Region and Toronto voices who have sung and played at our church during our Sunday Morning Services and December Festive Caroling Program.
