We are called by God to change our world for the better: to care for creation, to be good stewards of the earth, and to work for the health and well-being of our community.

St. Paul’s Community Organic Garden offers garden plots of20′ x 20′ (400 square feet) for a small fee each year for the Spring to Fall season. The garden is located on church property at 1 0131 Bayview A venue, Richmond Hill. The garden is plowed and prepared for each season by church and community volunteers. Plots are planted and cared for throughout the season by the plot-holders.

The garden produces numerous benefits to the environment and the people that enjoy developing a green thumb. Pride and mental health are some further benefits, along with learning new skills, spending outdoors healthy time becoming more fit making new social ties and are proud of the fresh food that they grow.

We are blessed with this land and seek ways in which to enrich our community. Our gardeners have opportunity to connect with the soil, plant and nurture vegetables and herbs, provide fresh food for their families, and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine that brings well-being to the soul.

Watching these vegetables grow has had a benefit on life and allows me to reflect on how much every plant has to offer. I’m constantly learning in the garden and each time I’m there, there is something new to discover.

In addition to individual plots that are available to the community, St. Paul’s maintains several plots for 360kids-York: helping youth overcome crisis and transition to a state of safety and stability.
