Baptisms
Baptisms
Song | Holy, Holy, Holy
God, who is rich in mercy and love, gives us a new birth into a living hope through the sacrament of baptism. By water and the Word God delivers us from sin and death and raises us to new life in Jesus Christ. We are united whit all the baptized in the one body of Christ, anointed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and joined in God’s mission for the life of the world. (Evangelical Lutheran Worship, page 227)
We are glad you are curios about baptism. Lutherans believe that baptism is a gift of God. We welcome all to explore the Christian faith and the grace-full waters of baptism – new-born babies, children, youth, adults and elderly.
- For babies and young children, parents who would like their child baptized may contact the pastor who will meet with them to explore the meaning and rite of Holy Baptism.
- For youth and adults there is a time of education and preparation for baptism with the pastor.
Baptisms often are celebrated at the Sunday morning worship assembly, for it is the congregational assembly that also promises to accompany and support the newly baptized.
