Confirmations

  Song | Spirit Come Down

What is Conformation? Conformation is the Affirmation of Baptism, its an opportunity for young people to declare for themselves that they will live out the promises that their parents, sponsors, and congregation made for them at their baptism (that is assuming that they were baptized as an infant).

At an infant’s baptism, their parents, guardians and sponsors made this promise: “…to live with them among God’s faithful people, bring them to the word of God and the holy supper, teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed and the Ten Commandments, place in their hands the Holy Scriptures, and nurture them in faith, and prayer, so that they may learn to trust God, proclaim Christ through word and deed, care for others and the world God made, and work for justice and peace.”

The times spent in confirmation classes are intended to continue the exploration of faith and life, so that students can make that affirmation of baptism statement of faith knowing that God will continue to lead and guide them and be there for them in all aspects of their lives now and in the future.

We are glad that you are interested in confirmation and we welcome you to call and arrange to meet the pastor so that we can discuss this with you further. There are no fees for confirmation classes.
